What would I say and do if I accepted an offer with a large grocery offer with heavyweight contents?
Sun, 12:35 pm. The day I unknowingly accepted this massive Dash grocery order. My first time (and not the last). When I saw the grocery, I was shocked! Firstly, my car is a tiny size (surely the system in my platform would flag this info?). Secondly, as an Independent Contractor, I believe that I should know the category and content of the offer: Is it food order, grocery orders, liquor, or flower; is it lightweight or heavyweight? Thirdly, I believe I should have the saying and preference to choose whether I want to do a grocery offer or not. Fourthly, I believe that Dashers should not get a punishment for Low Acceptance Rate should they decline this particular offer. Dashers are business owners, they make their business strategy plan for a reason. Unless it is against the law.
On this massive Grocery Order, I only found out about it after I clicked the Dash Offer. Imagine lifting and carrying them to the customer by myself. And can you imagine if the customer lives in a third-floor apartment?
However, I completed this order, for respect reasons and curiosity. To my relief, I didn't have to carry that massive and heavy grocery to the third floor of an apartment. But to the doorstep of a house. Phew!
Afterward, I called my Dasher Support and gave them my feedback as well as my request to be taken out of a grocery Dash like this. I didn't know at first that the platform has a program called Opt-out. It took me months before I get the grant request to Opt-out from some groceries offer but I still need to keep requesting other groceries offer. (This story will be in another post.)
