How many times a Dasher has mishaps while Dashing? What would a Dasher do when they have a mishap?
Fri, 1:01 pm. I took this selfie of me eating a "spilled" Chick-fil-A sandwich in my car on an afternoon Dash. Earlier, without knowing, I accidentally toppled the strawberry drink that I put inside the red bag. The spill wetted the paper bag making it soggy. When I pulled the bag, all of the contents fell off underneath it. The sandwiches were intact because the aluminum inside the wrappers saved them from getting wet but the outside wrapper was all pink from the strawberry drink. It didn't look presentable. The fries in another cup container were wet on the bottom part but the fries on the top were dry. This spill must have happened when I tried to find a parking spot and hit a dip or something just outside the customer's apartment. I saw the customer open his apartment door waiting for his food as I struggled to clean the spill. The red bag is not waterproof. It wetted my car seat too. I stepped out of the car and told the customer what happened, apologized, and asked him if he wants a refund or a replacement. He said replacement. I called Dasher Support who then said to me that another Dasher will pick up the replacement but I won't get my payout. Ugh! I left the customer without a payout but with a Chick-fil-A to eat as my lunch-to-go. It is still edible. I certainly won't discard the food. There are people out there who haven't eaten at all or don't have the privilege to eat a premium chicken sandwich. Right?
Surely, mishaps happened to food delivery drivers out there too, huh? Not just me. :(
Oh, remember my last mishap when the pizza slid inside the box? The pizza was unpresentable but still edible, but I get to replace the pizza with a new one because the team member replaced it for free. Mishap is real.
