How does a Dasher deliver food with health procedures?
Sat, 3:22 pm. There is a certain health procedure that the Dasher or Food Delivery Driver has to comply with as food is easily contaminated. Different temperatures, insulated bags, and hygienic treatment are the things that a Dasher must be aware of.
On food order pickup and delivery, before the Covid-19 pandemic, food delivery drivers (or Dashers on DoorDash) would be able to check the completed food order by opening the plastic bag or paper bag. But, during the Covid-19 pandemic and months post the pandemic aftermath, the CDC health procedure that was adopted by many companies including DoorDash the platform I used for Dashing, says to use a face mask when picking up and delivering the food order and not to open the sealed food bag or containers.
When the customer (the Diner) asks me if I can make sure the food order is complete and their extra request is met, I can only ask the Team Member at the merchant and trust them when they say, yes. When the food plastic bag is untied, I will tie it up myself. For hygienic reasons and to respect the efforts of the Team Member who sealed the food bag. And if the food plastic bag fits in my red insulated bag, I will put the food bag inside the bag. I don't wear hand gloves but I do use hand sanitizer a lot.
