Do Dashers and their customers communicate at all?

Sat 3:24 pm. This text thread (seen on the pic) was between me as a Dasher and my customer in the event of that pizza mishap. I was appreciating the customer, a young man, regarding his pizza that slid in the pizza box making it unpresentable (although still edible). He didn't get angry but accepted the option of a replacement, instead of a refund. He got a free pizza replacement because the pizza merchant's team member replaced it for free. I did have to go double back to pick up the free pizza and returned it to the customer. The customer gave me double tips. He said it was for my good effort. No, months later, I did not get to deliver any food orders to this young man. (For privacy reasons his name is not revealed.)

So, Dashers and their customers do communicate. Mostly about directions, or when an item is not available, or there is a waiting time, a long line at the drive-thru, busy in the dine-in, and yes, when something is going wrong like a spilled or slid food or not checking for a complete order. But once a while, the text would be a simple thank you, I appreciate you, or a brief friendly chat.
